Japandi Dining Table Styling Ideas

1: japandi farmhouse

japandi dining table

The first Japandi dining table design I have for you is perfect if you want to add some rustic charm to your space while keeping the overall feel light and airy.

Any well-designed Japandi dining setup starts with the table. Your table acts as the focal point of your design and is usually the largest and most eye-catching element!

For this design, I chose a table with a gorgeous “chunky” build and distressed wood finish, along with a matching dining bench. I’ve been loving the trend of dining benches and the warm, communal feel they bring to a table setup.

You can style your Japandi dining table with benches on either side, or on one side and normal dining chairs opposite it for a gorgeous asymmetrical look. To brighten up this space, I added some off-white dining chairs and minimalist accent pieces.

2: sleek & minimal

My next design is for anyone who loves the sleek and simple aesthetic that Japandi design does so well. This setup features a slim and angular wood table with black dining chairs to add a sleek and modern feel.

To tie in with the black, I’ve added some simple wall art with a dark frame and decorative branches as a centerpiece. To cozy things up a little bit, you can also add some throw pillows to your dining chairs. For this design, I’ve chosen white ones to contrast nicely with the chairs.

3: warm & textured

japandi dining table

Here’s a Japandi dining table ideal for small spaces or seating just a few people. This setup features an absolutely gorgeous pedestal-shaped table with a textured base to add some dimension to the space.

To match its sleek design, I’ve added some simple yet versatile black dining chairs. For my table centerpiece, I chose a small textured bowl and filled it with rattan balls. And to finish it off, I added a beautiful rattan light fixture for a warm and elegant table setup.

4: minimal elegance

This next one beautifully encapsulates the simplicity of Japanese design with the warmth and airiness of Scandinavian interiors.

We have a geometric racetrack table with a light wood finish which I’ve paired with white dining chairs to keep that feeling of openness flowing throughout the space.

To match the chairs, I’ve added a gorgeous Japanese style hanging lantern. For some coziness and texture, I’ve placed an oval woven rug beneath the table. I love adding a rug beneath a dining setup because it makes the area feel like its own contained, cozy little corner.

And to finish things off, I’ve added a beautiful neutral floral centerpiece in a dark vase for some contrast.

If you love textured pieces and a cozy, inviting atmosphere, this next Japandi dining table is for you. This one features a warm, neutral color palette with different shades of tan and off-white that blend harmoniously to create a comforting and peaceful feel.

I kept this design simple to really let the texture on the chairs and light fixture shine through. As for a centerpiece, I chose a simple table runner and placed a long planter on top to bring a hint of nature to this setup.

6: modern & geometric

I’m loving the clean and contemporary feel of this next space! I wanted to give the rustic charm of Japandi style decor a modern touch.

So, I looked for pieces that had geometric elements like the cone shape of the table, black light fixture, the cylindrical bases of the chairs, and artwork featuring abstract shapes.

Another great tip to replicate this style in your space is to use lots of contrast. In this design, you’ll notice I have both very dark and very light pieces that balance each other out. This creates a sleekness ideal for modern and contemporary style interiors.

For this next Japandi dining table idea, I have a design that perfectly balances sleek and geometric, with pieces that feature prominent lines and shapes such as the chairs, dining table, and hanging light fixture. For some gentle contrast and to balance out the light wood tones, I’ve added some dark brown ones.

8: harmony

Anyone else absolutely in love with that chandelier? This design features gentle colors and curvatures that blend harmoniously into one beautiful dining table setup. For a lively touch, I’ve added some potted greenery along with elegant taper candles.

9: low dining table

If you want to lean into a more traditional Japanese home aesthetic while still incorporating the sleek nature and light tones of Scandinavian design, you’ll love this next idea. This one features a low dining table and chairs that offer a relaxed and casual dining experience.

10: light neutrals

This design is perfect for lovers of light neutrals, curves, and textures. The legs of this table feature a gorgeous fluted design, and their thick design makes a statement that balances bold with simple. For a centerpiece, I’ve chosen some some vases in varying neutral tones to add dimension to the space, along with some greenery.

11: light wood tones

Simplicity reigns supreme with this next setup. In Japandi, less is usually more! Warm, light wood tones create a welcoming and airy ambiance complemented by subtle accents of texture in the cherry blossom vase and hanging woven light fixture.

12: fluted details & dark accents

This table and chair combo has some gorgeous warm undertones that create a welcoming and hearty ambiance. Add in sleek, dark accents like pendant lights and fruit bowls, and you’ve got a beautifully contrasted, eye-catching dining room.

13: floral & geometric

I love the balance of sleek, geometric shapes verses the organic shapes of the floral centerpiece in this next design. The centerpiece does an incredible job at softening the harsh edges of the wall art and dining table, creating an aesthetically pleasing space where elements seamlessly flow into each other.

14: japandi rustic

This design has beautiful, soft wood tones with lots of unique variations in its surface, giving the overall space a rustic, naturalistic feel.
