You know what they say: a clear space is a clear mind. And what better way to keep your space clear than to keep it organized?
Today, I’m going over 12 absolutely must-know ways to keep spaces of all sizes clean and organized.
These are stupid simple organization hacks you need to know to save space and help ensure you never lose anything again. Let’s get into it.
Stupid Simple Home Organization Hacks
1: declutter regularly
This hack is a classic. Keep only items that you truly need and love. Regularly (and ruthlessly) declutter to prevent unnecessary items from accumulating. Your home will be cleaner, your things will be easier to find, and your mental health will better!
2. multifunctional furniture
When you simply have no room for decor just for decor’s sake, choose furniture that serves multiple purposes, such as a bed with storage drawers or a coffee table with shelves underneath.
The best kinds of homes are stylish but also organized!
This coffee table is a great example of having built-in storage that blends seamlessly into its design, so you don’t have to sacrifice aesthetics.
3. vertical storage
Small space dwellers, listen up. Make up for the horizontal space you don’t have by maximizing your vertical space.
You can easily do this with wall-mounted shelves, cabinets, or floating shelves to keep your floor and surfaces nice and clear.
Effectively utilizing your shelves is an absolute must for maintaining organization in a small living space.
High shelving is also a great way to give the illusion of a higher ceiling and overall larger interior by drawing your eye upwards.

4. under-bed storage
You’d be surprised how much storage space you can get out of your bed! Make sure to utilize the space under your bed for storage bins or drawers to keep items out of sight and organized.
This is a great place to store things like extra bedding, seasonal clothes, extra workout equipment, or other awkward, bulky items.
A sub tip: use these vacuum sealer bags to make use of every inch of space you’ve got down there!
5. hooks & pegs
Install hooks and pegs on walls or behind doors for hanging items like bags, hats, or accessories. This is another super effective way to maximize your vertical space. Plus, it’s incredibly aesthetic!
My favorite spot for something like this is right by my front door, so I can easily grab things like keys and a bag on my way out.
Hooks and pegs come in a variety of styles and materials like wood, metal, or even on pegboards, so you’re bound to find something that suits your taste.
6. foldable furniture
This one is a life saver for studio and micro apartment dwellers. Opt for foldable tables and chairs that can be easily stored when not in use, freeing up valuable space.
Something like the piece in the picture above is perfect because you can also utilize the surface on top when it’s not being used as a table.

7. clear storage containers (and labeling!)
Containers like these are another staple of well organized homes. Storage containers are useful, but if you can’t tell what’s inside them, then what’s the point?
Instead of solid color bins, use clear containers for storage so you can easily see what’s inside. Label containers for quick identification. You can easily use a handy label maker for that!
8. back of doors
Every home, no matter its size, has a door. This makes using the back of a door a seriously underrated and overlooked organization hack. My personal favorite way to utilize doors for organization is with these hanging shoe holders.
They’re great for holding shoes (duh), bags, hair, makeup tools, and a host of other things.
They’re a must have if you’re struggling to keep random belongings off your floor or stuffed in drawers.

9. drawer dividers
Use dividers in drawers to keep small items like socks, underwear, eating utensils or office supplies neatly organized and easily accessible. Tip – be sure to get expandable dividers to ensure they fit in your drawers!
I love this one because you truly don’t realize how much of a difference it makes until you start using them.
Say goodbye to impatiently rummaging through overly stuffed drawers to find what you need.
10. rotating storage
In my opinion, this is one of the most convenient organization hacks. Consider using rotating organizers, lazy susans, or turntables for items like spices, toiletries, makeup, cleaning products, or kitchen essentials.
These are a fantastic way to keep a bunch of things in a small space and have them easily accessible.
They also come in a wide range of sizes, so you can store items big and small.
11. wire management
Left unmanaged, wires can be a major eyesore in your home, and there’s nothing worse than getting them tangled – especially when you need them.
Keep cables organized with clips or specialized cable organizers to prevent tangling and maintain a tidy appearance. This way, your wires are ready for when you need them and it’s easy to tell them apart.
12. baskets & bins
For an aesthetically pleasing organization hack, use decorative baskets or bins for storing items on shelves, next to furniture, in closets, or wherever!
Something about a classic wicker basket gives such a homey feel, and they look absolutely beautiful, too.
With their incredible versatility and eye-catching texture, you can never go wrong with using woven bins and baskets to organize your belongings.
